Much is the same - McVie and Nicks sound terrific, and the band is tight and professional - but Buckingham has lost some of his range, which undercuts some of his songs. This live performance spanned singles such as 'Landslide' and 'Silver Springs' and features the previously unreleased 'Bleed To Love Her.' This powerful performance contains 5 tracks not released on the audio version - 'Gold Dust Woman,' 'Gypsy,' 'Go Insane,' 'Over My Head,' & 'Songbird.'. Scene Magazine (), Fleetwood Mac: The Dance UCLA Bruin (), The Dance Review The Detroit News (), The Dance Review. All the hits are performed in nearly identical arrangements to the originals, with the exception of Buckingham's solo 'Big Love' (an improvement on the original) and the addition of Tusk's marching band to 'Don't Stop,' which makes the differences all too apparent. Similarly, the older songs suffer from the slightly hollow unplugged production. Not that they're bad - both Buckingham's gentle 'Bleed to Love Her' and nervy 'My Little Demon' are first-rate - but they aren't given the full-fledged production they deserve. Since there's so much new material, The Dance can't be a truly nostalgic experience either, because the new songs interrupt the flow. Despite this, the Unplugged-styled setting wasn't ideal for a reunion, since the group decided to devote nearly a quarter of The Dance to new material, inevitably resulting in unfair comparisons to their warhorses. Although it's likely that the reunion was for monetary purposes, it made creative sense as well - no members were as compelling solo as they were with the group. This DVD is as close as it gets.Still a ten for me.Two years after the Lindsey Buckingham/ Stevie Nicks/ Christine McVie-less incarnation of Fleetwood Mac crashed and burned, their classic '70s lineup reunited for an MTV Unplugged session and an accompanying tour.

And 2 encores later LB was still stealing the show with his guitar solos. Saw these guys live last week with Lindsay Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Jihn McVie and of course Mick Fleetwood. Christie McVie's encore 'For You' has to be heard to be believed. As this concert goes on it has the effect of turning it up just a little bit more after each song until you get to the band's finale. The songs in this concert are so much a part of our lives today we take them for granted. Stevie Nicks voice is as beautiful today as it was 20 years ago. For a divorced couple, both John and Christie McVie put aside their differences to deliver an electric performance and Mick Fleetwood just superb on drums.

Old friends and sparring partners Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie harmonize and take turns in the spotlight, backed as before by the sturdy rhythm section of John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. Lindsay Buckingham is just brilliant on lead guitar. The Dance finds Fleetwood Mac rekindling their late ‘70s magic on stage with mostly successful results. Most of the others have either someone missing from the lineup or members appearing on stage and certainly not enjoying themselves as they do on this one. There are several DVD's out there of Fleetwood Mac but none of them measure up to this re-union concert.
